Charles Xavier's gifted youngsters are set to flex their muscles once again in Fortnite, and while we're not sure we'll ever hit the peak of the Chapter 2 Season 4 Battle Pass again, Epic Games is set to try with another Marvel-themed season.
Marvel skins always sell like hotcakes in Fortnite, and after we recently had a Weapon X skin, Magneto appeared in the Battle Pass, and there was an all-star Deadpool & Wolverine collab, it looks like Fortnite is sticking with those marvellous mutants.
Fortnite is finally giving us the X-Men skins we've been asking for
Trusted Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR claims that a trio of X-Men skins inspired by X-Men: The Animated Series and the recent X-Men '97 sequel series will be landing in the shop around August 12. As this is just before the start of the new season, they may be saved until its expected debut on August 16.
The terrific trio adds Scott Summers (Cyclops), Jubilation Lee (Jubilee) and Piotr Rasputin (Colossus). For those who've been keeping up with fan requests, Cyclops is a skin players have been championing for longer than we care to remember. Still, the fact we get Colossus instead of a mainstay like Beast is a little disappointing.
Cyclops, Colossus, and Jubilee will join other X-Men favourites, including Storm, Wolverine, Jean Grey, Rogue and Gambit. We've also seen X-Men-adjacent characters like Mystique, Magneto, Domino, Cable and Psylocke. The roster could grow, but alongside Beast, where's our Nightcrawler skin?
Still, most agree that Cyclops is worth the bundle of his own, taking to the comment to cheer for the stoic leader of the X-Men to finally make his debut. One excited player said, "Cyclops we've won 🔥," while another added, "Holy sh*t peak." A third said, "I’m crying in the club rn… why? 😭😭😭" and a fourth concluded, "Super pumped. W bundle 🔥."
Fortnite teases the identity of the Wanderer
While there's no pricing for the X-Men bundle, the fact the recent Deadpool & Wolverine set costs 3,600 V-Bucks means we can expect to pay at least that for the whole package. With an imminent release, Fortnite is clearly setting up for more Marvel madness.
As for what's on the way, new dialogue from the map's Magneto NPC seemingly confirms the theories that the mysterious Wanderer is actually Doctor Doom. A leaked 2024 roadmap already teased Victor von Doom as Chapter 5 Season 4's poster boy, but the question is, which other familiar faces will be jumping off the Battle Bus?
