When it comes to the most iconic Fortnite seasons of all time, we're not sure we'll ever return to the highs of Chapter 2 Season 4's Marvel madness. While there are rumours that Epic Games is cooking up another Marvel season for Chapter 5 Season 4, nothing compares to running around Doom's Domain as Thor.

Like the season was peak Fortnite for many, the Battle Pass was arguably the best we've ever seen. In particular, the shapeshifting Mystique was an OP addition to the game's ranks. Even four years after she slinked into our lives, Mystique is still being accused of being a pay-to-win skin.

SypherPK proves Mystique's pay-to-win potential

During a June 18 Solo Victory Cup, Ali "SypherPK" Hassan jumped into Chapter 5 Season 3 as Mystique. In a clip shared on X (formerly Twitter), SypherPK showed himself walking around Grim Gate while disguised as a Wasteland Guard.

While everyone around SypherPK builds away and takes each other out, he slowly walks about without anyone noticing him. For those unfamiliar, the Mystique skin contains a unique emote that lets you transform into the last person you've killed. Having taken out a Wasteland Guard, SypherPK is able to masquerade as one.

It's admittedly not a foolproof plan, and in the end, SypherPK still finished in 8,621st place. We can't imagine many making it to the end would fall for this trick, but the fact that SypherPK was able to trick anyone in a cash cup is wild.

Others on X chimed in, with many agreeing Mystique is still a powerhouse skin pick. One shocked player wrote, "Bro is about to get the skin banned/Changed," while another added, "And Fortnite says the game isn’t pay-to-win 😂." A third suggested they know the move well as they concluded, "DON'T LEAK STRATS!"

The thread points out that Epic likely regrets giving Mystique her ability because My Hero Academia's Toga has a similar power, whereas her Fortnite skin doesn't include it. Even if Mystique ever returned to the shop, we doubt she'd get the same shapeshifting skillset.

Some are holding out hope that a rumoured X-Men '97 collab could add Morph to the shop and give them the same emote as Mystique, but considering she's still being called pay-to-win so long after her debut, we can't see it happening. As for avoiding this in matches, we suggest you shoot everyone you see, including NPCs.
