Fortnite players remastered Modern Warfare 2 maps better than Call of Duty did

The quickscoping montages are going HARD.

Modern Warfare 3 made a valiant effort to reinvigorate the old-school Call of Duty feel when it remastered the entire MW2 (2009) map pool, but it will most likely be remembered for its live-service model that shone throughout the year rather than just at the start.

The remastered content didn't quite hit the mark like Activision would have hoped, but that doesn't mean the maps are useless. Instead of the maps' remakes being glorified in Call of Duty, it looks like Fortnite is doing everything that Sledgehammer wanted to achieve and more.

Fan-made Terminal map puts MW3 to shame

Taking to X, one Fortnite player showed off a sniping montage on Fortnite that was a little too close to home for Call of Duty fans.

User "Richytoons" posted his clip of a quickscope reel on an Unreal Engine 5 Creative map shaped as a replica of Terminal, and while the gunplay doesn't quite hold up against the old Barret .50Cal and the Intervention, the map looks incredible.

"We got Call of Duty inside Fortnite before GTA 6," one fan said, while another added, "The recreation of Terminal looks awesome".

The mode is yet to be made available to the public, as Richytoons says it will be launched on Fortnite later this year, with a plethora of first-person game modes to play. Still, they will have to try to fly under the radar of the DMCA and copyright hammers.

Terminal was one of the worst remastered maps in Modern Warfare 3. Many fans hated it because they felt that the current-day engine and gameplay did this rustic and magical map no justice.

Hopefully, this Fortnite island will have the glitch to get on top of the plane, as MW3 failed to bring out the best parts of the 2009 game and instead pushed it to be a competitively viable design, ripping out its soul.
