There's little doubt that Fortnite is an absolute money mill for Epic Games. The title remains free-to-play and stands as one of the biggest battle royale games in the world. Still, it ropes in payments all over the place for battle passes, skin packs, and Fortnite Crew subscriptions.

Fortnite is a next-level model that has seemingly inspired the entire gaming world to get on the same wavelength. There's little that can be done to dispute that Fortnite has hit the nail on the head with micro-transactions, no matter how scummy many players feel they can be.

Now, Epic's latest choice might not be so black-and-white, with a proposed Fortnite Creator Market sounding like a great idea, but is sure to lead to some problems.

Fortnite may be introducing a Creator Marketplace

In a pretty shocking turn, leakers have revealed that Epic Games may be working on a store for User Generated Content for them to use in the game's Creative Mode.

Reputable Fortnite leaker iFireMonkey claims a new store for user-created content could be on the way, making use of V-Bucks and offering players new items to play around with in their creative games. The leak has appeared as a new UI has been found.

It indicates that content not created by Epic Games could be appearing in- game. This is a compelling reveal, however, some fans aren't sure that this is a good idea.

Fans think fan-made content in Fortnite could lead to disaster

Fans don't really know what to make of this news, with many players being concerned that this is a chance for users to scam others with useless in-game models. One grumbled, "Fortnite is definitely trying too hard to be Roblox..unfortunately."

Namely, there are worries that despite a presumably rigorous screening process and tight copyright rules, there's not a lot to stop someone from stealing your content and slapping it with a pricey markup. Others are simply hating the idea that Fortnite will effectively evolve into just another Roblox.

Regardless, this is a pretty big step for Epic Games to take, with many claiming bringing the game one step closer to becoming Roblox isn't a bad thing. With their hopes to turn Fortnite into a platform over a single game, maybe that's exactly what they're going for.
