The Switch has been an absolute treat for its whole tenure as Nintendo's primary console, and though there are some that expect it won't last much longer, it has made a pretty huge impact on the gaming industry.
Perhaps the most important part of the Switch as a device are the Joy-Cons, which are equally the worst thing about it.
The innovation of the Joy-Cons has allowed them to flourish and is immensely freeing for players, but Joy-Con drift has never truly been overcome, and fans are still stuck with broken controllers.
But hey, it's nothing a new lick of paint won't improve. One company has come through with a Switch controller for the ages.
Nyxi Debut Gamecube-Themed Joy-Cons
As revealed in a new video posted to its Twitter account, the gaming peripheral company Nyxi has debuted a brand-new look at the upcoming controllers designed for the Nintendo Switch. The best bit is, they're an incredibly faithful homage to the classic Nintendo Gamecube.
Though the GameCube wasn't exactly Nintendo's greatest financial success, it's a console that a lot of players hold close to their hearts. These new controllers pack replaceable joysticks, illuminated buttons, and reactive triggers.
It's the perfect way to bring its controller into the future with a bit of retro nostalgia. Let's be honest, you couldn't really fault the GameCube controller. Plus, the team behind the peripheral seems to be making a big promise.
Gamecube Joy-Cons Have A Joy-Con Drift Fix
By allowing for the movement sticks on the Joy-Cons to be completely removable and replaceable, Nyxi has effectively found a way to put an end to Joy-Con drift.
All you have to do is replace the sticks, and you're back on top. Blimey, that was easy. It makes you wonder why Nintendo wouldn't pick up the hint themselves, but hey - maybe whatever follow-up to the Switch is coming could get it sorted. It certainly wouldn't be too soon.
