You might not think Tom Nook doesn't need any more money, what with the slum landlord reaping the fruits of your labour as YOU pay him to perform menial tasks. Still, the cunning capitalist has come a long way from managing the town shop - now ready to take on a whole new industry.
Video game LEGO sets are all the rage these days. In fact, LEGO sets in general make bank. Everything from Horizon to Sonic has made the leap into brick form, with more Mario sets than we care to count. While the long-rumoured LEGO Zelda sets are yet to emerge, we know an Animal Crossing collab is on the way.
What sets are in the Animal Crossing LEGO collab?
After a generic reveal trailer didn't give much away, we didn't have to wait long until the offiicial LEGO site updated with what sets are coming. There are five Animal Crossing LEGO sets, sure to honour the island sim and destroy your bank balance.
The full list of Animal Crossing LEGO sets include these five at the following prices:
LEGO set | Price |
Bunnie's Outdoor Activities | $19.99/£17.99 |
Nook's Cranny & Rosie's House | $74.99/£64.99 |
Isabelle's House Visit | $39.99/£34.99 |
Kapp'n's Island Boat Tour | $29.99/£24.99 |
Julian's Birthday Party | $14.99/£12.99 |
They're all scheduled for release on Friday, March 1, 2024, so we'll sadly miss the Christmas rush. The biggest of the sets is the Nook's Cranny & Rosie's House, which is sure to fly off shelves and contains a hefty 535 pieces.
It's not quite as big as the 7541-piece Millennium Falcon, but it'll still take a fair bit of time to build.
Gamers lose it over Animal Crossing LEGO sets
As you can imagine, the Animal Crossing LEGO sets are going down a storm. It's hard to escape the popularity of Animal Crossing and its adorable cast of colourful critters, meaning the LEGO collaboration looks like a licence to print money.
One cheered, "These sets are mega booty but the minifigs are f*****g amazing," while another added, "Oh god these are kinda cute. 🥰 I already have too many Lego sets though." A third concluded, "Omg these are all so good! I hope this is a series that continues!"
Not everyone was sold though. One critic said, "I absolutely would’ve bought Nook’s Cranny for like 40, but bundled with a villager house I don’t care about at all? No thanks." Even though we're sold, we have to agree with the person who said, "It is so on-brand for Animal Crossing Legos to put us in crippling debt."
