Back when the N64 was the hot new console, Turok (which was known as Turok: Dinosaur Hunter at the time) was one of the more unique and wacky games on the market.

Since then, a plethora of weird and wonderful games have been released, but for fans of the dinosaur FPS title nothing quite compares to Turok.

Players are asking for more Turok content

A recent Reddit thread, which asked gamers which franchise they would like to see start over from scratch, revealed a large group of people who are eager for a reboot of Turok to make its way to our PCs and consoles.

Though there were plenty of great answers including Dino Crisis, Fable, Quake and Twisted Metal, the stand out answer which received a huge amount of support from commenters was easily Turok.

When the question was posed, Reddit user Poo-PooKachoo said: “Turok, mostly because I want more Turok.”

Many people clearly agreed with the sentiment as the post is currently sitting at over 4400 upvotes and has several comments seconding the idea.

“Turok needs a DOOM 2016 style comeback,” wrote another commenter.

Another agreed, saying: “Man, with modern graphics and updated controls and better maps and AI, the game can be great.”

The Turok response is currently the top answer on the thread which, given some of the other games mentioned, highlights just how many people want to see the game's return.

Nightdive Studios remastered Turok back in 2017, and the remaster has been slowly rolled out across consoles since that point.

Thanks to their commitment to the game, some players are hoping they may decide to make their own instalment in the future.

One user wrote: "Nightdive have been doing amazing with the remasters, and now with their remake of System Shock I would love them to take Turok and just make a whole new entry, from scratch, but keeping the elements that made the originals great like the weapons (Cerebral Bore is a must) and the imaginative enemies and gore.

"Turok is just such a great IP for potential away from all the military and space marine shooters of late, and at the perfect time with all the boomer shooters on steam making a killing lately."

Even if it turns out to be too late for Turok to get a new instalment, especially since the original developer Propaganda Games closed in 2011, it is great to see so many people appreciating the game and reminiscing about how it made them feel so many years after its initial release.
