PlayStation and PC went together pretty nicely until this month. We were really starting to enjoy it, too. The likes of The Last of Us Part 1 and God of War were a refreshing addition to PC libraries everywhere, with the console-based company offering a whole new audience the chance to play its exclusive games.

It's been great (aside from the bugs in TLOU), but then they had to go and spoil it all - Sony revealed that in order to play Helldivers 2 on PC, gamers were going to have to create and sign in to a PlayStation account - even though they never had to beforehand and were already using Steam to play the game.

The backlash was so monstrous that Sony had to reverse its decision, but players haven't forgotten yet. Even though it had a similar ethos attached, one game has finally arrived on the PC. To the shock of fans willing to boycott, it’s crushing it.

Ghost of Tsushima has finally made it to PC, and very quickly, it has become one of the most popular games to make the jump from its home on PlayStation. Official numbers from Valve state that Ghost of Tsushima hit a pretty hefty concurrent player number of 77,154 yesterday on Steam alone.

It's impressive by itself, but as God of War only reached 73,529 as its highest concurrent player number on PC, it has quickly made Ghost of Tsushima the fastest-growing PlayStation game on the platform.

It's a huge accolade, especially when you consider that players were cancelling their pre-orders when news broke about needing to connect a PlayStation account in order to play its online mode. It's the same function that was intended for Helldivers 2, so for it to impress in this way is a pretty huge deal.

Many are infatuated with the idea of a PlayStation game on PC because of its capability for mods, and clearly, the chance to wander Feudal Japan as Shrek is too much for players to ignore, even with the PS account fiasco. So many years on, Ghost of Tsushima keeps winning.
