The 2023 Game Awards took place on December 7, with Baldur's Gate 3 taking home the crown as the best title of the year. Unfortunately for Modern Warfare 3, it didn't win any of the categories throughout the night. Still, that didn't stop Sledgehammer's FPS from getting a mention on stage.

While handing out an award, God of War's Christopher Judge decided to roast MW3 in front of the entire crowd. Taking a jab at the campaign's extremely short runtime, Judge got a huge laugh from the audience in the building.

During the 2023 Game Awards, God of War actor Christopher Judge was invited on stage to hand out the award for the Best Performance category. We know most of you tend to come to Call of Duty for its multiplayer capabilities, but that hasn't stopped its campaign from becoming the butt of the joke.

Before announcing the nominees, Judge made a joke about his "eight-minute" long speech last year being significantly longer than the Modern Warfare 3 campaign. "No eight-minute speech like last year, but fun fact, my speech was actually longer than this year's Call of Duty campaign."

This got a huge laugh from the audience, who certainly weren't expecting a joke at MW3's expense. Realising that Activision probably wouldn't have liked what he said, Judge then mentioned that it would likely be another company that would refuse to hire him.

How long is the Modern Warfare 3 campaign?

For those who don't know, Call of Duty's MW3 campaign received heavy criticism at launch for the story's extremely short length. This was one of the major complaints that led to the title being dubbed the "worst" Call of Duty ever by its harshest critics.

Not only that, a lot of the objectives were Open Combat Missions that followed a similar structure to Warzone, with very few interactions between characters. In total, the campaign takes around five to seven 7 hours to complete, and considering most fans argue it's a barebones narrative, it's easy to see why Judge decided to take the jab.
