The Grand Theft Auto games have never been afraid to lean into the weird and wacky, and with GTA 6 hoping to raise the bar in 2025, players are excited to see where the writers take the story next. From mythical monsters to bulb-headed aliens, GTA 6 is destined to have plenty of tinfoil theories.
While we know the typical GTA story of our protagonists climbing the criminal ladder will likely be the crux of Jason and Lucia's arc, expect all the typical myths and legends to be scattered around our return to Vice City. It's easy to get distracted from the main quest, but it's here that GTA really makes a name for itself.
GTA fans ready for supernatural GTA 6
Over the past 27 years of GTA games, supernatural mysteries have kept us poring through the depths of Reddit to try and decipher what's going on. In what other franchise could you see Bigfoot take on a Michael J. Fox-inspired werewolf?
GTA fans have been sharing their hopes for GTA 6, theorising on what supernatural mysteries will be going bump in the night this time around. Redditor u/Monnomo asked if we wanted to see more monster mysteries in the next chapter, there was a unanimous cheer for the supernatural.
One cheered, "Cryptids and aliens, please. Give us the alien mothership off the coast. Bermuda triangle sh*t," while another added, "Broooo imagine like a sea monster, or an actual Bigfoot or like an Everglades swamp monster…. That would be wilddd."
A third said, "Hell yeah Florida has all kinds of cryptids. Hell, they might do what Battlefield Hardline did and make the wildlife very hostile, and you will see a giant ass snake with a lb of cocaine in it or something. Rockstar always does a good job parading things like that."
Someone else concluded, "Every GTA since 3 has supernatural or spooky stuff. Matter a fact, every single rockstar game ever made since PS2 is full of creepy mysteries and and creepy secrets. It's part of their DNA and why their games have such good creepy vibes."
After some pointed out Florida has the third-highest number of Bigfoot sightings, so we'd be surprised if he doesn't return from GTA V. Rockstar loves the supernatural, but from GTA III's Zombie Elvis to Vice City's Submarine, San Andreas' Mr. Trenchcoat to GTA 4's Easter Island Coverup, that was nothing compared to GTA V.
Giving us the Epsilon Program, Bigfoot, Mount Gordo's ghost, the Los Santos Sea Beast, and whatever is going on at Mt. Chiliad, we'll be disappointed if GTA 6 doesn't try to top this. GTA Online has only added to the supernatural lore surrounding the franchise, and with the first GTA 6 trailer proving the devs are still having fun, anything could happen.
