Without a doubt, GTA 6 is the most highly-anticipated game this year and it's not even scheduled to release until 2025. Since the trailer went live back in early December, it's been an absolute phenomenon with fans desperate to learn any new information on the story, characters, and gameplay features.
All of this excitement leads to a lot of engagement on social media platforms, with Rockstar Games being no stranger to record-breaking announcements. Well, another record has been smashed by Grand Theft Auto on TikTok, but this time with the help of an influencer.
GTA 6 TikTok comment smashes like record on platform
On December 18, 2023, TikToker Dylan Page set out to achieve the most-liked comment on the entire platform.
After realising his comment on the trailer that simply said "Most liked comment about GTA 6 before GTA 6" was getting some traction, he encouraged his fans to go and like it.
Well, nearly two months later in February, Page managed to reach his goal with the comment reaching a monumental 3.7 million likes. Although there are no official records, it's thought this surpassed the previous holder which sat at 3.6 million.
What's baffling is that GTA 6 is still a long way from release, meaning Page's comment will likely continue to get traction. Another trailer is presumably just over the horizon, and if we get a gameplay reveal, expect records to be left in the dust.
GTA 6 already holds the most-liked gaming tweet on X
This isn't GTA 6's first record when it comes to social media, with the announcement for the first trailer also making history. The tweet is currently sitting on over 2 million likes, which makes it the most-liked gaming post in the history of the platform.
With GTA 6 holding TikTok and X records, it feels like it's only a matter of time before it reigns over every single social media platform, especially when Rockstar finally announces an exact release date.
