Grand Theft Auto fans are starved for news about the upcoming GTA 6. The next mainline game is widely expected to be among the most popular and adored games ever made but was caught with its pants down after a huge leak.

Now that we've seen GTA 6 in action in a very early stage, players think that more news must be around the corner. A full reveal is about to happen, right? Well, no. The title is going to be an absolute whopper, bigger yet than GTA V.

With Rockstar Games' focus being staunchly on GTA Online, it'd be of no surprise if the team hadn't touched the thought of a sequel until it was revealed to the public. And, as yet another disappointment for fans waiting day by day, a fan theory has been crushed.

No, GTA Online isn't teasing GTA 6

GTA Online’s hidden ‘GTA 6 teaser’ isn’t what you think

A big update just came to GTA Online, and one of its minor additions has been interpreted by fans as a teaser for the upcoming GTA 6. As you can probably imagine, it isn't.

A t-shirt debuted in the game with a series of numbers on it, which was pretty boring by itself. It didn't take long for the numbers to be decoded, with a message revealing, "ONEDAYWILLREVEALALL." A teaser? Why, this could only mean that GTA 6 is around the corner!

Sadly, the teaser appears to be connected to some other files that have been discovered by dataminers. While not a GTA 6 reveal, the decoded messages points to an interesting upcoming event.

GTA Online's mystery tee foreshadows UFO event

Dataminers, including Gaming Detective, have put their heads together to discover that more files connected to the tee are buried in GTA Online. They all point toward references to aliens and UFOs.

This has led many to conclude that the teaser is referring to an upcoming Halloween event that features aliens, with something of an X-Files twist.

It's definitely intriguing, but it'll be a big disappointment for fans expecting a hint at GTA 6. Sorry, everyone, let's give it a couple more years.
