GTA V Easter Egg Has Been Hinting At GTA 6 For Years

Was anyone really surprised when Rockstar Games announced Grand Theft Auto 6 earlier this year? Although it's been nine years (and counting) since the last mainline release, the fact GTA V became the most profitable entertainment product of all time means there's a lot riding on GTA 6.
Although GTA V came out all the way in 2013, no one was really buying this was the end of the road for the Grand Theft Auto name. Despite continuing to milk GTA V and Online to this day, many think the acclaimed developer has been tinkering away in the garage for years. Even if you aren't convinced this is the case, a potential GTA V Easter egg could blow your mind.
Is GTA V Hiding GTA 6's Setting?
When it comes to anything related to GTA 6, we're left lost in Los Santos. Despite rumours of a massive open-world game that will return to Vice City - as well as a Latina female protagonist - it's all just hearsay and "leaks" from those supposedly in the know. Apart from its announcement tweet, Rockstar hasn't given us anything on what's going on behind the notoriously secretive doors of the developer.
As pointed out by Charlie INTEL (citing an archaic Reddit thread), a sneaky poster in GTA V could've been hiding GTA 6's Vice City setting all along. In the 2013 game, there's a poster for Vice: The Musical - which seems like a not-so-subtle nod to the beloved GTA: Vice City from 2002. Putting on our tinfoil hats and delving a little deeper, is there also something in the fact the poster features police cars closing in on a male and female duo?
Even though the Latina female leaks haven't been corroborated, we've heard that the protagonists will be a Bonnie and Clyde-inspired duo of bank robbers. This would definitely fit with the musical poster. Erring on the side of caution, would Rockstar really have had this much of a story planned out for GTA 6 while developing its predecessor? Probably not.
Will GTA 6 Return To Vice City?
Ever since the massive Project Americas leak of 2018, Vice City has cropped up time and time again. Although there have been prevalent rumours about a city inspired by Rio de Janeiro, or possibly multiple cities, Vice City is a nostalgic locale that keeps doing the rounds. Most recently, a supposed GTA 6 map leak claimed that a modernised Vice City will be the main setting, while a standalone map similar to Red Dead Redemption 2's Guarma will provide a Caribbean interlude.
Bear in mind, a lot has changed since GTA V was released all those years ago and no one really knows what's going on with GTA 6's development. Other whispers claim Rockstar has already downsized it to remove the multiple-city aspect, so there's a chance Vice City has been given the boot. Then again, something tells us we'll be sipping Pina Colada's with a retired Tommy Vercetti before too long.
