The David Beckham co-owned esports organisation, Guild Esports is shifting gears and inviting racing enthusiasts to their newly opened sim racing facility at the Sky Guild Gaming Centre, based in the bustling hub of Shoreditch, London.

With a membership costing £59.99 per month, the centre offers an opportunity for individuals to engage in high-level sim racing, a field previously challenging to enter due to its high costs and exclusivity. It will also serve as the practice facility for its sim racing team.

Full range

The facility, equipped with six sim racing rigs, is expected to serve a dual purpose, both as a community space for public use and a training ground for Guild's own sim racing team. The roster is actively competing in the British Formula 4 Esports Championship, and the centre is intended to be a critical asset in their arsenal.

The centre's launch comes on the heels of Guild Esports' foray into sim racing, following a £600,000 fundraising effort. Guild's sim racers include Brandon Abraham, Remy Gilbert, and Ryan Ward. Gilbert, for instance, is ranking high in the championship standings after winning round 1 of the circuit, currently sitting in 5th place in the driver standings after round 4.

A path to pro

Guild Esports intends to pave a new 'path to pro', particularly for those without access to an often prohibitively expensive sim racing setup.

Jasmine Skee, the CEO of Guild Esports, reinforces this vision: “Encouraging diversity at all levels of the esports industry is a cornerstone of everything we do at Guild," she said in a press release, noting the role the facility wants to play in levelling the playing field.

“It will be one of the first purpose-built dedicated sim racing training facilities in London, and a huge step-up into the world of sim racing and Formula 1 for those who aren’t able to pay the steep cost of a personal sim racing rig – a barrier for many prospective talented racers.”

Prospective racers can register their interest and become members, which entitles them to two monthly sessions and access to intricate telemetric data to pinpoint areas for improvement—a critical tool for anyone serious about racing, whether virtually or on the track.

To celebrate the launch, Guild is giving four fans a chance to win a two-hour racing session at the new facility. This prize includes real-time coaching and a Q&A with Guild's sim racing team, providing an up-close look at what it takes to compete at the highest levels. More details for entry can be found on Guild’s social media platforms.
