OpTic owner H3CZ has been left fuming after the release of an 'offensive' CDL camouflage in Vanguard.

The brand of OpTic Gaming is arguably the most influential organisation in Call of Duty history, having pioneered the early days of content creation and in the process sewing a dynasty in the esports scene, remaining, to this day, the most-viewed team in the CDL.

However, if they thought that this has earned them a certain level of respect in the eyes of Activision and their stable of developers, they appear to be mistaken.

As one of the leading franchises in the league, OpTic's Owner Hector "H3CZ" Rodriguez has now fumed at the developers, as they add an "offensive" weapon skin alongside ten other CDL wraps.

H3CZ Labels 'Texas Optics' Skin as 'Offensive'

The Green Wall is renowned for its neon branding in the gaming universe, despite a range of rebrands in recent years. Having seen the organisation move ownership on an almost yearly basis, resulting in three consecutive seasons under a new team, the developers have clearly had their wires crossed regarding the most recent team name.

Upon the release of the Call of Duty League Vanguard skins that honour the 12 teams in the competition (well, except Boston Breach who have been snubbed from the range), OpTic Texas' team name has been switched around by the devs to read "Texas Optics", leaving H3CZ offended by the brand ignorance.

Taking to Twitter, H3CZ said, "I don't know what's more offensive, the way they titled our camo "Texas OpTics" or the way they designed our camo," before adding, "who keeps choking man..."

In a now-deleted tweet, the owner continued to answer back to critics who noticed that OpTic are the only team to have their brand name before the city they represent, saying, "You think that was accidental? You think I’m here to build a city’s name? We’re here to continue to build the name OpTic. OpTic comes first, always."

Obviously seething at the brand name of OpTic being disregarded by the league, H3CZ also took a jibe at the weapon skin itself, believing the wrap to be "offensive" too.

All teams have a similar pattern to their CDL skin, although the likes of Toronto Ultra, Los Angeles Guerrillas, and London Royal Ravens have used the mix of the Primary, Secondary, and Auxillary flag colours to make a more unique and flamboyant twist on the preset. Alongside OpTic Texas' woes, 100 Thieves have also been left disgruntled at their personalised skin, which replicates the free-to-acquire Red Tiger that has been a stalwart in the game for nigh on a decade.

Sledgehammer Games did reach out to H3CZ to apologise for the error in the naming, although it appears that the designs are here to stay.
