While there was a massive amount of excitement around Halo Infinite shortly after its launch, this overwhelming buzz for the game was ultimately short-lived.
Based on data from Steam Charts, Halo Infinite's population has been trending downward for multiple months, with the FPS only pulling an average of 2,951 players in the last 30 days.
Well, a leak may have just revealed what the devs have planned to reinvigorate the Halo Infinite community before it goes the way of Battlefield 2042. Unsurprisingly, it involves a brand-new set of maps.
Two upcoming Halo Infinite maps leaked
A leak from Twitter account Halo leaks has revealed that 343 Industries are working on two new Halo Infinite multiplayer maps.
The first of these maps is called Solitude and is a remake of Plaza from Halo 5 that's been created in Forge. Based on the image, this map looks like it's filled with enclosed spaces for close-quarters gunfights and ledges that offer power positions on enemies down below.
Halo Leaks also showcased an image of a map called Forest, which is apparently only a temporary name. The image doesn't give us much information about this map, but the environment certainly looks incredible.
Even though Halo Leaks has a good track record and previously showed an in-development version of Solitude back in August 2022, it's worth noting that all these leaks should be taken with a pinch of salt as neither map have been confirmed by the devs themselves.
When will these leaked maps release in Halo Infinite?
Unfortunately, there is no current release date for either of these maps as the 343 hasn't officially announced them just yet. Halo Infinite players will just have to keep their fingers crossed that these new multiplayer maps will arrive in a major update soon.
However, as these are just leaks, it's impossible to know whether these maps have been changed or just put on the back burner for the time being.
A lot was cut from Halo Infinite, and while it's unlikely we'll ever get the full version we were promised (with split-screen co-op), 343 could try and redeem the title's tarnished reputation.

Playing Halo 2 in third-person makes it better than ever
When you think of Halo you most likely categorise it as a first-person shooter, which makes sense since that is exactly what it is. At least, it was until modders shone a whole new light on Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2, allowing players to experience Halo in the third person.
