343 Industries
Halo Infinite experienced some downtime recently, and naturally, fans weren't very happy about it.
It doesn't matter if the game is completely free, offering no obligation to financially contribute to its ongoing stability - you probably could have guessed that fans would be raging, and you wouldn't be far off.
But, it's not just the fact that players couldn't become godlike at their own discretion - a lot of gamers have lost Halo XP, and it might not be coming back.
Could Your Halo Infinite XP Be Lost Forever?
Sadly, it doesn't look like players who were struck when Halo Infinite went down are going to get their XP back. Yep, we know it's a bummer.
As one player sent a ticket to 343 Industries, the response they got certainly wasn't the one they expected, and it was shared to the Halo subreddit with disdain.
"While we do not have the ability to give or replace the XP boosts you've lost during the server outage, we want to inform you that access to Halo Infinite servers is now restored" reads the response. "If you are still having trouble getting into matches, please restart the game and try again."
Players are very unhappy with 343's stance, as their potentially huge XP boosts could be lost forever. We know you love the grind of the Battle Pass, so it's frustrating that you've been left marooned without your XP.
Fans React To Lost XP In Halo Infinite
Players have responded to the 343 Industries ticket in the comments, and they're not very happy. It's not just with Halo Infinite, but with the XP token system at large in the FPS genre.
"The double XP token system is just bad, needs to be time spent in match", says one commenter. "That would fix all the issues at hand."
"They 100% can do it but probably don't want to set a precedent because if they did it for you they'd have to do it for everyone and to be perfectly honest they probably have a million other much higher priority things to deal with than lost double XP boosters," says another. "Can you imagine how many tickets these guys are getting daily?"
Whichever side of the fence you sit on here, it's still a bummer that the XP has been lost to the ether. Here's hoping this isn't a recurrent event, because if it is, players are really going to lose their rags.

Playing Halo 2 in third-person makes it better than ever
When you think of Halo you most likely categorise it as a first-person shooter, which makes sense since that is exactly what it is. At least, it was until modders shone a whole new light on Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2, allowing players to experience Halo in the third person.
