Even though Helldivers 2 has already done a lot of the work necessary to build a dedicated fanbase, that doesn't mean players are willing to lay off just yet. The game is still turning out plenty of content for Helldivers to sink their teeth into, especially as a new wave of Automatons threatens Super Earth's way of life.

We're reaping the rewards of these fights with Warbonds, both free and paid. As a new Warbond appears, players have realised they could be in for an incredibly explosive time in the next push against the Automatons.

Helldivers 2's new Warbond features incredibly explosive weapons

Arrowhead Game Studios has revealed Helldivers 2's latest premium Warbond, and it's toting itself as a chance for us to really go ham with grenades.

The Democratic Detonation Warbond comes packed with plenty of new content, featuring some serious firepower upgrades like an exploding crossbow, a new thermite grenade, a grenade pistol (yes, you read that right) and some new armour sets that lend themselves to the explosives themselves.

The new Devastator armour especially seems quite resistant to blasts, so if you’re a fan of the game’s existing grenade launcher, you might be in for a treat with this Warbond.

There's more to be enjoyed in this Warbond, like some new capes, emotes, and an Expert Extraction Pilot Booster to be applied before you drop onto a planet - but the new features don't end here, and they don’t all sit behind the paywall of the Warbond either.

Helldivers 2 quietly introduces four new ship upgrades

Along with the Warbond has come an update that many players didn't see coming - as revealed by the Helldivers Alert Twitter account, there are six new ship upgrades to be purchased, too. There's the likes of the Atmospheric Monitoring ship upgrade, giving better targeting in tough weather conditions, but it'll cost you.

Atmospheric Monitoring will cost 200 Samples, 150 Rare Samples, 15 Super Samples, and 25,000 Credits, meaning you're going to need a tonne of samples. Players think the ship upgrades will shift the meta, but coming in at such a cost, we're not sure it'll play out that way.

Still, you'll definitely want the Superior Packing Methodology, where you can now refill all mags for your support weapons when using resupply boxes. It'll save squads from devouring two resupply boxes at once to prime themselves for combat and will help hugely in the effort against the Automatons.
