One of the hardest decisions any Apex Legends player has to make is their choice of character, especially if you're looking to climb in Ranked.
With over 24 Legends that all offer different strengths to a squad and the roster growing with every new season, it can feel like an impossible task picking one from the bunch.
Sometimes, instead of going around in circles, it's best to consult an expert and let them do the thinking for you. Luckily, FURIA pro Jacob "HisWattson" McMillin has revealed his solo-queue Apex Legends character tier list and the number one choice might surprise some players.
HisWattson unveils solo-queue Apex Legends tier list
Taking to Twitter on June 11, HisWattson has claimed that the best solo-queue Ranked Legend is the Translocating Thief, Loba.
According to him, she's "2-3x better than any other character, even more so after gaining the ability to craft banners." Being able to bring back her entire squad after a gunfight goes wrong gives her team significantly more survivability, and therefore, she's more likely to climb in Ranked.
The reason why characters like Pathfinder and Vantage are so low on the list is because of the size of their models, which are a "massive L." For Wattson, "If your hitbox is 2x bigger than someone else you have to average 2x more value from your abilities which just doesn't really happen."
Finally, he concludes that "characters with low mobility are also pretty useless... You have to entry frag + escape when your teammates flop, Fuse/Maggie for example just can't do that."
Who should you play in Apex Legends Ranked?
If you're completely out of ideas on who to play, then be sure to take Wattson's advice and start mastering Loba. However, picking a Legend that you enjoy playing and are motivated to learn will always be better than opting for the meta choice in most cases.
Maining a Legend will involve playing them for countless hours, so make sure you go with a character that fits your playstyle.
