There's a horrific mod that lets you play as Aunt May in Insomniac Games' Marvel's Spider-Man, and safe to say, the results will give you nightmares.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If it is, mod it. Marvel's Spider-Man was a great game that let you play as Peter Parker, Miles Morales, and even Mary Jane Watson, however, what about poor Aunt May? Now, you can save the hero as Peter's long-suffering aunt.
Insomniac's superhero spectacular was a near-perfect game that introduced a more mature version of Web-Head when compared to the MCU counterpart of Tom Holland. Peter still had his fresh-faced optimism, but we got some serious Tobey Maguire vibes with an already established hero.
How Can You Play As Aunt May In Spider-Man?
Posting on YouTube, jedijosh920 showed their nightmarish Spider-Man mod that replaces Peter Parker's model with Aunt May. Obviously, the model of an elderly woman is a far cry from the backflipping hero - meaning May is often stuck in a perplexing position with a vacant look and claws for hands.
The video keeps Peter's voiceover, which makes the whole thing even stranger. However, all of this changes when you see May has a companion with her. Even though Uncle Ben has sadly passed away by the time we get to the events of Spider-Man, he's honoured in the mod in the form of a decapitated head hanging from May's body.
Fans were suitably shocked by the video. One wrote, "Fun Fact: There is actually an earth where Aunt May got bitten by the spider thus becoming Spider-May and now it's here," while another added, "Thanks for the free nightmares." A third simply concluded: "I always loved the comics where Aunt May would web swing with a floating severed head. Brings back memories... golden age indeed."
Are There More Spider-Man Mods?
Since its release, jedijosh920 has shown off some impressive Spider-Man mods that have swapped our friendly neighbourhood hero for the likes of Doc Ock and even the actual spider that bit Peter. Still, nothing zings quite like the OAP Aunt May taking over from Peter. We like to imagine Spider-May exists in some sort of Marvel Multiverse. Well, it worked for Spider-Gwen.
Unfortunately, we've got a bit of a wait until Insomniac lures us back into its sticky web with Marvel's Spider-Man 2 release date. Following Miles Morales, it looks like he'll have to work with Peter as these Spider-Men have to take on Tony Todd's version of Venom. We can't wait to see whether Spider-May will also be making her return, but given what happened in the OG Spider-Man, that might not be possible.
