Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is right around the corner, and while most players are still excited for whatever comes next in Peter and Miles' story, there's one thing that many players are still hanging onto - and that's Peter Parker's face.

Upgrades to the PS5 version of Marvel's Spider-Man changed the facial model of the web-slinger pretty dramatically in order to improve its animation capacity, and while many simply moved on with a new-look Peter, others simply couldn't let go. And now, as the "new" Peter Parker face is the one that appears in Spider-Man 2, they're still kicking up a fuss that "their" Peter isn't present.

But it looks like the man himself has something to say about it.

Stop asking Peter Parker about his face

The updated face of Peter Parker in Marvel's Spider-Man.

It seems that Peter Parker himself isn't too pleased about players asking about his face, as he's spoken out about players asking him about the changes made to the PS5 version of the game.

"The performance was the same for me," voice actor Yuri Lowenthal says in conversation with ComicBook.com. "I got over it as soon as they said 'Hey, we wanna make this change so that the facial animation is better.' I said 'I'm all in!' I don't care if he looks like a goblin, if my performance is better, than I'm in. I'm kind of tired of talking about it to be honest, because I think everything that needs to be said has been said. Some people will take longer to get over it, some people will never get over it.

"The one positive thing I take away from this experience is that people connected emotionally so hard and so deeply in the first game that they're mad when they feel that person changes. I can only be so mad about that because it worked, not the change thing, but you connected with the character which is great. Now, get over it!"

It seems he's pretty much had enough of being asked about the new face - but it has led to a better performance reflection in the game from Yuri, so frankly, it's fair enough.

Will we ever see the old Spider-Man again?

The key art for Spider-Man 2.

This is a huge point of contention for many fans, with a lot of them feeling as though the "new" Peter Parker is inferior to the one they're used to - but it's time to accept that the old Spider-Man isn't coming back.

With the new face being literally more useful to developers, there is no reason to fold back to an old design, and to revert simply wouldn't make sense. It is done, nerds. Take Lowental's advice - get over it.
