"Alright, so I did my hair for this. There's nothin' wrong with lookin' good in the ring. And I look good." Mirage is a legend of the Outlands, but having been smacked in multiple dimensions over the years and bam-bam-boozled into near extinction, it looked like his Apex Legends dynasty was destined to end in disappointment.
But, for the first time in years, Mirage is back. Apex Legends Season 20 is restoring the vain, hair-flicker, to his throne.
Mirage skyrockets in pick-rates in Apex Legends Season 20
Well, Mirage isn't quite back as number one, but changes to his kit have seen the cocky son-of-a-biscuit have a significant rise in pick rate. This will only continue to surge as word of his buffs circulates.
Since Season 20 came into play, Mirage has increased to his best pick rate in three years, where he was popular back in Season 9. According to Apex Legends Status, Mirage currently has a solid 3.3% pick rate in Apex, which assumes that there will be roughly two bamboozlers in each lobby.
This inflation has seen Mirage become 17% more popular in Apex Legends in the last seven days alone, which is the fourth-biggest increase behind the notable buffs to Seer, Ash, and Mad Maggie.
Apex Legends players are marvelling in Mirage's resurgence
Mirage's resurgence has also come at a time when some previously overpowered legends have lost a leg, with Conduit, Horizon, and Catalyst being some of the most notable characters to suffer a drop-off. And it's safe to say fans are loving Mirage's comeback.
"Mirage is actually so good now wtf...Nearly the entire lifespan of the game he's been C rank at best, but now? He might be my new main. Thank you Respawn," said one player on Reddit.
Anorther added, "30 seconds to his ultimate is really amazing, it's up all the time and ready for every fight. Huge advantage for downing multiple players. I've been loving it." So, if you can stomach the arrogance, Mirage might just be your ticket to success in Season 20.
