Apex Legends has lent quite a lot of players and fans from Call of Duty in recent years. As Warzone died, many casuals, professionals, and streamers flocked over to the Respawn Entertainment title and stayed there - finding a haven in the futuristic battle royale with a grindable progression system.

But with Apex halting in its tracks and Call of Duty preparing for a blast from the past, Apex Legends' self-proclaimed CEO Phillip "ImperialHal" Dosen has claimed the title might be "f**ked" by Modern Warfare 3.

ImperialHal impressed by the Modern Warfare 3 Beta

Apex Legends did exceptionally well in snapping up some major CoD personalities such as Nick "NICKMERCS" Kolcheff and even the recently retired Seth "Scump" Abner, but with Modern Warfare 3 on the cards ImperialHal is impressed and subsequently fearful for his own game.

"MW3 looks f**king good," he said on stream. "It actually looks like old CoD." He added, "When does Warzone 3, or whatever it is, come out? The first week of November? That’s going to hit Apex hard."

ImperialHal claims Apex might be f**ked when Modern Warfare 3 launches

Although some players such as NICKMERCS have already pledged their future to Apex Legends, the nostalgia blast from Modern Warfare 3 might be enough to attract other old CoD fans, and by the time it dries up again, XDefiant could finally be on its way.

"Apex’s new season doesn’t come out until like the 31st of October. We thought viewership was f**king bad now, and the f**king player count, just wait until the new Warzone [update] comes out. We’re about to be f**ked," Hal added.

Apex has struggled to maintain its steam as it took off again earlier this year, but despite holding down half a million players per day, Modern Warfare 3 could be about to slice that player count up and leave Pathfinder clutching onto his rope for dear life.
