Choosing the ultimate set of weapons to run in your Apex Legends matches can be tough, especially if you want to climb in Ranked.

While nearly all of the guns are usable in their own right (yes, even the P2020 straight after a drop), there's no denying that some options are stronger than others.

You could spend hours in the Firing Range experimenting with every option, but sometimes, it's better to let an expert think for you.

Luckily, TSM's IGL Phillip "ImperialHal" Dosen has showcased the most "broken gun combo" in his latest video, and the setup can destroy enemies at any range.

What's the best weapon combo in Apex Legends?

For Hal, two weapons stand above the rest as top-tier in Season 21, and it's fairly easy to see why when he has them both in hand. At long range, the Hemlok is the premium Assault Rifle, with burst fire that rips through shields with ease.

The steady recoil pattern makes it easy to land shots on foes from afar, especially if you have 2x or 3x optic equipped. If necessary, the Hemlok can even hold its own up close with hip fire that can three-burst an enemy if you're accurate.

For close to mid-range, nothing even comes close to competing with the Havoc in the current meta. This gun pumps out a mind-blowing amount of damage and outclasses the majority of SMGs. The key is to get hold of a Turbocharger that removes any wind-up time, allowing you to reach the maximum fire rate almost instantly.

While guaranteeing a Turbocharger isn't possible, you're very likely to find one if you survive into the end game. Not only that, the Havoc doesn't necessarily need a hop-up to be a monster as it can hold its own without one.

Are SMGs still viable in Apex Legends Season 21?

Volt Mirage Apex

While the Havoc is definitely above the rest of the pack at close range, the SMG category still has a lot to offer.

The main pick you want to look out for is the Volt, which has a relatively slow rate of fire but pumps out more damage per mag than any of its counterparts.

Unfortunately, the R99 is no longer the face-to-face demon it used to be, and the Alternator struggles without Hammerpoint Rounds.

As for the CAR SMG, it's solid, but we'd stick with the Volt if possible as it's by far the best and is incredibly easy to use.
