Since the Nemesis was introduced into Apex Legends back in Season 16, the AR remained at the top tier of the weapon meta. With an energy metre that increases the gun's rate of fire, deadly accurate burst shots, and unmatched damage at long range, it's safe to say the Nemesis is a lethal pick in the Outlands.
Noticing this, the devs decided to nerf the Nemesis in the recent Dressed to Kill Collection event update. Following the patch, Philip "ImperialHal" Dosen has slammed Respawn Entertainment over the 'useless' changes that did nothing to reduce the weapon's power.
ImperialHal calls outs pointless Nemesis nerf in Apex Legends
During a recent stream, ImperialHal and his teammates were discussing the power of the Nemesis and how nearly every player is using the AR at the moment.
Calling out Respawn's recent nerf to the gun as useless, Hal believes "some of the devs at Respawn just change numbers just to make it seem like they're doing their job."
According to Hal, the projectile speed reduction nerf did almost nothing to alter the power of the gun, and as a result, it's still dominating the meta.
The TSM pro has made it clear that the devs need to "reduce the damage" to solve the problem, but whether these changes will be implemented is hard to know.
How should Respawn nerf the Nemesis AR in Apex Legends?
While reducing the damage of the Nemesis is one option, Hal did put forward another idea that would temper the AR's strength in the early game. Instead of the weapon immediately having access to the energy fire rate mechanic, the TSM pro suggests locking it behind the Turbocharger hop-up.
If Respawn goes down this route, players will have to hunt down the attachment and are not guaranteed to find it every single match. Either way, it's clear theĀ Apex Legends devs are going to have to nerf the Nemesis again, or they risk allowing the gun to reign over the meta for multiple seasons.
