We've all been there in Apex Legends, where the pressure is on and you're the last member of your squad alive in an intense skirmish. Losing is out of the question, as it means all of you will be sent back to the lobby empty-handed.
Sometimes, these situations don't go your way, and you're taken down by an enemy who managed to best you in a duel. This can be extremely frustrating, with every competitor reacting in a different way.
Certain players will instantly quit Apex Legends, others will queue up again out of anger to get their revenge, and then there are those who take out their frustration on their equipment.
Well, for TSM's Philip "ImperialHal" Dosen, the latter came to pass when he was taken down by an opponent on stream. Unfortunately, his controller was the recipient of Hal's wrath when it was thrown up against the wall. Don't worry, there's a happy ending.
ImperialHal throws controller at wall out of anger in Apex Legends
During a recent stream, ImperialHal was taking on a set of enemies on World's Edge with Peacekeeper in hand.
As the last member of his squad alive, all eyes were on the TSM IGL to pull off the clutch as he has done many times.
After attempting to get a res off on an ally, Hal was unfortunately beamed down. This was partly due to the deathbox being in his way, blocking his ability to move away from the gunfire.
Left unbelievably frustrated, Hal instantly got up from his chair and threw his controller at the wall.
Did ImperialHal break his controller?
Surprisingly no, Hal's controller did not break in the end despite being smashed against a wall. The device may have taken a beating, but he carried on playing with it after he'd calmed down from the frustrating death.
No doubt it may have taken a few months of its lifespan, and there's a chance drift kicks in a little sooner, but it's good to see it's still intact.
While he lost his patience this time, very few pros are better at handling the pressure than Hal, and he'll be looking to prove that with more success in the 2024 ALGS season.
