With a crack of the whip, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has put the rumours to bed and locked in its 2024 release date on Xbox and Windows PC. After wild rumours went around about a possible PS5 release, the game has also been confirmed for Xbox's biggest rival in 2025.

Indiana Jones locks in Xbox release and PS5 port

Gamescom's Opening Night Live 2024 didn't skimp on the announcements, and rounding off the show, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was confirmed for December 9 on Xbox, Game Pass, and PC. More than this, the rumour mill was right, with it also pencilled in for "Spring 2025" on PS5.

Coming from the team known best for the Wolfenstein games, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle promises to be another globe-trotting adventure. However, with Microsoft currently holding the keys to the Bethesda vault, many expected it to be a massive Xbox exclusive.

As part of the Project Latitude initiative, Microsoft is planning to share its games with Sony. While it doesn't look like the Blue Team is as keen to hand over exclusives like God of War and The Last of Us, there's a question about what exclusives (if any) Xbox will have left.

Console exclusivity isn't anything new, but with just a few months where Xbox owners are taking priority, it's sure to be a divisive move. Then again, with Indy coming to Game Pass, you can bet everyone is going to be tipping their fedoras upon release.

News that Doctor Jones is coming to PlayStation isn't a huge surprise, and as well as previous teases that this would be the case, the game was 'leaked' for a PS5 release just hours before Gamescom. We didn't believe it at first, but now Geoff Keigley has made it gospel, it looks like we'll all be enjoying Indy's latest adventure in 2025.
