Warzone is one of the absolute champions of the battle royale space, and it's clear to see why.

The use of Call of Duty's movement and gunplay mechanics in a battle royale title would reasonably be enough, but throwing in a vast and detailed map, a second-chance system that rivals the best, and even Nicki Minaj and Snoop Dogg as operators is a smattering of cherries on top of the deeply violent cake.

But it looks like there are some fans who aren't so sure that its long-standing staple isn't exactly working as intended.

Warzone fans criticise the gulag

Some fans have taken to the Call of Duty Warzone subreddit to discuss the gulag, perhaps one of the biggest selling points of the game, to claim that it might not be as balanced as once thought.

"How come the gulag in WZ has one side with a complete advantage compared to the other?" asks one post in the subreddit.

"Should've the gulag be an equal 50/50 fight? Especially in ranked play? One side has two head glitches and one side with a right shoulder peak [sic]."

It seems the user is frustrated - it's fair, too, as the original gulag was pretty perfect when considering that it was designed to be a balanced final fight, that when failed, boots players back to the lobby.

It's clear that some players are feeling swindled, as many have taken to the comments of the post to claim they feel the same way about the unbalanced gulag.

"Gulag should always be symmetrical, no idea why they keep making gulags where one side has an advantage," says one comment. "Vondel one is how they should be."

"Absolutely. I have to rat out if given the spawn where the container is on my right and the enclosed area to my left," adds another. "I feel like there is very little that can be done from that spawn."

It looks as though fans aren't happy with Infinity Ward on the front of the gulag - but then again, it'd be tough to find a CoD fan who wasn't at least a little unhappy with the state of Warzone.
