As video game hardware has advanced so much in such little time, many gamers have a tendency to nitpick their experiences - especially when it comes to deeply tactical titles like VALORANT.

Of course, you could run the game on a toaster, but many are dedicated to making Riot Games' ambitious first-person shooter run as smoothly and seamlessly as possible. As gamers continue to row over framerates, one player has pushed VALORANT to its very limits.

VALORANT at 1000 FPS is mind-melting

We knew that nerds cared too much about frames per second, but this is a bit of a step too far. One VALORANT content creator has shown off (as well as you can on lesser hardware) a ridiculous setup that allows the game to run between 900 and 1200 frames per second. Good grief.

The clip revealing the setup was posted on Twitter and made as part of an ad in collaboration with AMD's Ryzen - which is giving the PC itself the power to run at such remarkable speeds.

Though we doubt there'd be much difference between the 999th and 1000th frame, it's still a bonkers framerate regardless, and it won't be long before gamers start demanding that their titles all run at this visual speed.

The rig for 1000 FPS VALORANT is intense

For all you super-nerds attached to the specific parts of your PC, there are a few bits of kit that cjaiye used to put this beast together:

  • AMD RYZEN 7 7800X3D
  • AMD RX 6950XD graphics card
  • MAG B650 Tomahawk WiFi motherboard with custom AMD 5 slot

You be shelling out a lot if you want to meet cjaiye in the (presumably) very exclusive club of players breaching 1,000 FPS in VALORANT. It's interesting it comes at a time gamers continue to debate Starfield 'only' running 30 FPS and Zelda being one of the year's best games with the same FPS.

Having VALORANT power forward at 1000 FPS is a truly jaw-dropping experience, and well most won't be able to tell the difference, we say, hey, whatever floats your boat.
