Since the days of Black Ops 2, when the M8A1 was a piercing one-round killing demon, the burst meta has been declared as one of the most exciting and skill-raising ways to play Call of Duty, and now Warzone is being blessed with another chorus of brr-brr-brr.

The M8, in all of its variants, and the M16 have often been dubbed as one of the best guns the franchise has seen, given that the accuracy of a burst gun completely outweighs that of a fully-automatic gun.

Even in Warzone, when the AUG was introduced into the mix, the burst meta was one of the most fun of its kind, and now it appears to be back.

JGOD Proves Warzone's Burst Meta Returns

As Rebirth Island has returned to Warzone and Fortune's Keep continues to be a blast for devoted players, James "JGOD" Godoy has found that the AUG has been buffed in Season 4 which has secretly increased its time-to-kill (TTK) rate rather significantly.

According to the loadout tycoon, the AUG is a three-burst kill in Warzone (to players with full armour), at any range, while four bullets to the head or neck are also deadly. With a maximum TTK rate of 884 milliseconds and a minimum of 567ms, the AUG has become the fiercest weapon in Season 4.

In addition to the AUG, the 'most accurate weapon of all time' in the UGM-8 is also best used as a four-round burst gun, which can be achieved by equipping the Romauld 560mm DA Barrel. With the UGM-8 light machine gun being the most-used weapon in Warzone right now, the AUG actually has a better TTK rate.

Following the Season 4 buffs, the AUG’s maximum and minimum damage was increased, which allows JGOD's AUG Warzone burst-meta loadout to be arguably the best Assault Rifle in the game.

JGOD's AUG loadout is as follows:

  • Muzzle: Agency Silencer
  • Barrel: 17″ Titanium
  • Optic: Axial Arms 3x
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Foregrip
  • Magazine: 45 Rnd Drum

The M16 is not yet as viable as it used to be, but as fans yearn for more old-school classes to be reintroduced, there is definitely room for movement.
