JGOD proves Call of Duty UI was better ten years ago

Call of Duty mogul JGOD has proved that the Modern Warfare 2 UI is actually much slower than that seen back in Modern Warfare 3, over 10 years ago.

Over the years, Call of Duty has tried to become much more dynamic and snappy than it used to be.

Whether it's crispier graphics, more seamless transitions, or even menu navigations, everything Activision is doing is centred around making Call of Duty quicker and more enjoyable.

But, that doesn't seem to have been the case, and now it looks like decade-old CoD games are out-pacing those of the most-recent instalments like Modern Warfare 2.

Modern Warfare 2's UI is significantly slower than MW3 (2011)

Having already proven that the gunplay in Modern Warfare 2 is much slower than it was in Modern Warfare 3 (2011) - in terms of ADS times and strafe speed - James "JGOD" Godoy has now shown that it also takes much longer to navigate the menus.

Another side-by-side comparison shows that it takes roughly 90 seconds longer to create a full gun class in Modern Warfare 2 than it did in 2011, where you could use this disparity to land yourself in the next game.

This also didn't take pro-tuning into consideration too, so if you like to add extra range to your barrel or prefer a quicker ADS time on your rear grip, this takes even longer.

JGOD's experiment also takes into consideration knowing which attachments you want to use too, and given MW2's Gunsmith is so much more elaborate than that in MW3, it could take even longer to figure out a new gun.

Over the years, fans have called for the return of the classic "pick ten" system, which also eliminates any unintentional skill gaps through simply having overpowered attachments, but it's likely that the gunsmith will only continue to evolve.

With Modern Warfare 3 on the horizon though, maybe Sledgehammer Games could learn a thing or two from its namesake predecessor from 2011.
