Season 4 of Warzone 2 (sorry, we just call it Warzone now) has arrived, and as always, the community is trying to identify the strongest meta weapons following the patch.
While the new Tempus Razorback and ISO 45 are still up in the air when it comes to their rankings, there are a select set of guns that are already making their mark at the beginning of Season 4.
Instead of defaulting back to the Cronen Squall, which absolutely dominated Season 3, James "JGOD" Godoy has a recommendation in the form of a slept-on LMG.
In his opinion, it could be a new 'frontrunner' in the WZ2 meta and is better than the Cronen Squall as it's easier to control.

For JGOD, the HCR-56 could 'sneakily' appear as a 'frontrunner' in the Warzone 2 Season 4 meta but at the moment, a lot of players are sleeping on the powerful LMG.
With 'less recoil than the Cronen,' the HCR-56 is significantly easier to control than the popular Battle Rifle which is essential with the recent health increase.
Missing your bullets now will usually result in any enemy escaping to cover, so it's key you can lock onto your opponents and beam them down.
The loadout above has a huge amount of velocity which means the weapon always feels like a laser beam and as it has a 'solid' TTK, it's a true threat at long range.
How popular is the HCR-56 in Warzone 2 Season 4?
According to WZRanked, the HCR-56 has an incredibly low 0.7% pick rate in Season 4, putting it at 20th in the overall popularity rankings.
This is certainly a gun that could creep up into the meta over the coming months, so don't be afraid to stay a step ahead of the rest of the community.
With JGOD's seal of approval, this is definitely a long-range meta contender and a gun that deserves more attention.
