Shotguns are a strange weapon category in Warzone, as they only tend to garner significant popularity when they're absurdly overpowered.

These periods in the meta are often short-lived, with CoD players calling on the devs to take action against the close-quarter specialists as soon as possible.

Currently, in Season 1 Reloaded, no shotguns stand out from the crowd as being far too strong, but that doesn't mean they can't compete.

Warzone guru James "JGOD" Godoy has shared a set of techniques that may bring shotguns back into the fold, giving you the tools to delete enemies face-to-face in your Battle Royale matches.

JGOD explains how to make shotguns OP in Waronze

While shotguns are often labelled as zero-skill weapons, there are some tricks you can use to take your close-quarter skirmishes to the next level.

According to JGOD, one of which is using Tac-Stance whenever possible as it offers "cleaner iron sights" when attempting to land shots on a foe. This is important as nearly all shotguns have heavy recoil and muzzle effects, meaning it's extremely difficult to see your opponent when using the standard ADS.

If that wasn't enough, sliding with Tac-Stance negates the sprint-to-fire time you'd usually receive when sprinting around with the weapon.

As a result, when clearing out a building, you should Tac-Stance sliding as much as possible to clear corners, as it will give you the best chance at firing off the first bullets on a foe.

Which shotgun should you use in Warzone Season 1 Reloaded?

KV Broadside Warzone

Picking a shotgun in Season 1 Reloaded all comes down to personal preference, but there are a few particularly strong options.

For those wanting a full-auto shotgun that obliterates anything in its path face-to-face, then the Riveter or the Haymaker will suit you best.

If you're someone who wants to take a slower approach and go for two-taps, using cover to your advantage, then the Lockwood 680 is definitely the right choice.

Either way, don't be afraid to run a shotgun in this meta, especially if you're getting tired of SMGs. The category has a lot to offer and will never let you down in an enclosed space.
