The world's biggest charity gaming event is back for another year, and with just days left to donate, the annual Jingle Jam fundraiser is asking you to mash those buttons and dig deep. Hoping to jingle all the way, the appeal is nearing a lifetime total of £25 million raised.
For those who haven't heard of Jingle Jam, it was the brainchild of The Yogscast's Simon and Lewis. In 2011, the pair asked their viewers to give the equivalent of their usual Christmas presents to an Oxfam Just Giving page. Considering they were the largest YouTube gaming channel at the time, they raised over $100,000.
Jingle Jam 2023 is on track for another massive year
Following those humble beginnings back in 2011, Jingle Jam has continued to grow. With Jingle Jam playing its last game in 2023 on December 14, the finish line is in sight. The current total is £2,200,000 raised in 2023, with over 51,300 donations.
The average donation this year has been £41.80, meaning the foundation's lifetime total sits at a jaw-dropping £24,200,000. Jingle Jam has vowed to up the ante with a series of events, hoping to hit that elusive £25 million.
If you want to get involved, there's still plenty of time. Sign up as a Jingle Jam fundraiser on Tiltify, choose one of the 12 chosen charities, and plan your fundraiser. Most stream on Twitch, YouTube or TikTok, but it's up to how you want to raise money.
Last year, your donations meant everything from 32,500 helpline calls for young people at risk of suicide to support for over 2,300 Ukrainian refugees. It allowed 82 disabled athletes to attend the Special Olympics World Games and provided support for 11,388 trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse young people.
Who is Jingle Jam raising for in 2023?

The top causes in 2023 are ecological conservation and mental health, with Whale & Dolphin Conservation and Campaign Against Living Miserably both earning £220,000 each. There are 12 worthy causes being raised for this year, as the above are joined by Autistica, Comic Relief, CoppaFeel!, Galop, Hello World, Justdiggit, Movember, RNIB, Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal, and War Child.
As Jingle Jaim aims for the big £25 million, the appeal is selling bundles of game codes which have been donated by developers. These bundles contain over 70 games and are worth over £1,000. Costing just £35, 100% of this money goes to charity.
The question is, with Jingle Jam 2022 raising £3,448,292 for its charity partners, can we beat it in 2023 and is that £25 million destined to be smashed this year?
