Kratos On TV Could Herald A New Era Of Video Game DILFs

More video games are coming to TV, and it's a good thing - because it means we're getting more hot dads. Amazon's God of War series is the perfect place to add another DILF.

Video games have a muddled relationship with the big screen. There have been some exceptions to the rule, but for the most part, video games have struggled to translate to the mainstream Hollywood blockbuster.

Duds like Mortal Kombat II and Super Mario Bros made stinks so foul, the video game movie (in concept), simply hasn't recovered since. But a workaround has been found. Following the huge fiscal and critical successes of The Witcher and Castlevania, television has been the main port of call for upcoming adaptations from the interactive medium, with its extended storytelling making for a chance to give every corner of the source material its own dedicated exploration.

The next few years will see the launch of a Halo series, the live-action debut of The Last of Us, and now, even a pass at the iconic God of War on the small screen. This could do incredible things for video games in the wider world. But there's a more important impact that we're yet to see. Video Games are rife, teeming even, with insanely hot dads. It's about time we see them for all their glory, championed on the pedestal they so deserve. This one's for you, DILFs.

Sexy Dads Are The Jewel In The Video Game Crown

Father figures in video games have a lot to offer, especially if the player is in their big boots. Some are wistful and moody, like Dishonoured's Corvo Attano, or attentive protective like The Walking Dead's Lee Everett, but either way, they all serve a grander purpose.

The stereotypical patriarch is often a simple basis or point of reference for trust, and narratives that put them front and centre will usually see them brought back from the brink of misery to reveal their soft and gooey centre - even if they only exude the energy of a dad. And we all like a bit of that, don't we?

But, there's one other point that not a lot of people are comfortable with confronting... some of these dads are hot. The Last of Us' Joel. God of War's Kratos. Even the dorky kindness of Stardew Valley's Harvey. Some of these loving protectors are attractive as all hell, and whether we love them for the right reasons or not, we love them regardless. And coming into live-action and onto our screens could finally give them the respect they so deserve.

TV Could Bring A Video Game DILFnaissance

Adapting to live-action is going to bring sexy dads right into the spotlight, and into the living rooms of non-video game fans. The TV is already a DILF hotspot as it is - Timothy Olyphant in The Mandalorian, Timothy Olyphant in Santa Clarita Diet, Timothy Olyphant in The Good Place - the list goes on.

And now, as Pedro Pascal steps up to the plate in HBO's adaptation of The Last of Us as Joel, Oscar Isaac remains very much in the running to take up the role of Solid Snake, and the God of War series is set to bring us a new Kratos-shaped brick wall, the sexiness of middle age is about to prove itself to be something that video games have just hit on the head.

And, when AAA developers catch on that we're secretly all just thirsty maniacs, it might mean that we could get even more hot dads in gaming. And then the cycle begins anew. Well, it's about time!

DILFs Are Ready For A Comeback

Hot dads are about to rocket toward the small screen, and it could be the casting of Kratos that sets off the chain of events that forces us all to concede to being horny on Main. We've got a lot of DILFs to come to TV, and if we're lucky, the video games themselves will follow up and give us what we really need - even more hot dads.

Who knows, maybe this could be an all-new draw for video games as a medium, and maybe Santa Monica Studio could come through with that God of War dating sim we've all been waiting for? Only time will tell what lies in store for the sexy dads of our favourite video games, but one thing's for sure - we're only going to get thirstier as they make it into live-action. All we need now is to see Bigby Wolf from The Wolf Among Us in the flesh. Then, we'll be more than set for the all-new DILFnaissance.
