It's hugely impressive that Prime has had the cultural impact it has in such a short time. The sports drink, toted by KSI and Logan Paul, has swept the nation's twelve-year-olds and rushed them down to their local Asda in the ungodly hours to secure their clout-affirming Powerade ripoff.
After only being officially available for a year, it has been the bane of the existence of shop workers everywhere. Unless you work for Wakefield Wines Limited.
The drink has been in unbelievable demand, selling for upwards of £15 per bottle in opportunist retail stores and being flogged on eBay for even more - and KSI has had just about enough.
KSI Speaks Out Against Prime Scalpers
It's incredible that nothing was said sooner, but we'll take what we can get. KSI has made his stance on the current state of Prime sales incredibly clear, as he has spoken out against the scalpers that are making the drink such a lucrative buy.
Stitching with a TikTok from Wakey Wines, the store in Wakefield that has become notorious for selling Prime at extortionate prices, KSI reacts to one customer paying £1200 for a 12-pack of the drink.
We barely need to transcribe this one - just look at the video. It's safe to say he makes his feelings incredibly clear.
Screaming at the camera, KSI implores fans to stop buying Prime at these prices. Whether in the UK or USA, Prime has been selling like nothing we've seen before - with most stores putting a strict limit on how many bottles you can buy (if you can buy them at all).
How Much Is Prime Actually Selling For?
Though the drink is supposed to be about the same value as the likes of Powerade and Tyson Fury's Fury, opportunists have taken up the stock problems as an opportunity to make some serious bank.
Of course, we see in the video that people are willing to pay £1200 for a 12-pack of the stuff, but it gets even worse over on eBay, with some listings running up at least £11,000 for a single bottle.
Prime is entering the Hypebeast catalogue as something that people will acquire purely for clout, and entirely by accident. But hey, at least it keeps KSI and Logan Paul paid. Whether that's a good or bad thing is up to you.
