The future of the Call of Duty franchise is looking much brighter, and after the middling launch of Modern Warfare 3 back in November 2023, the game is finally firing on all cylinders. Even as things dial up toward Black Ops 6, MW3 still has a few tricks up its sleeve.

While Black Ops 6 is ready to chart a new era of the CoDverse, MW3 has the upcoming Season 5 and hopes of Season 6. There's also the question of the game's potential arrival on Game Pass, with us hearing 2023's CoD is coming to the subscription service in the near future.

Modern Warfare 3 could be hitting Game Pass very soon

The question of Modern Warfare 3's Game Pass release is a major point of contention, and after the record-breaking Activision Blizzard King deal, it was only a matter of time until it hit the service. We'd already heard that MW3 was coming to Game Pass in July, but now, we might've locked in a (logical) release date.

According to leaker eXtas1stv, MW3 is coming to Game Pass on July 24 but won't be available via Cloud. This makes perfect sense when you remember Modern Warfare 3 Season 5 is also releasing on July 24. The account has some history of proven leaks, but until Activision makes it official, we should tread carefully.

If MW3 is landing on Game Pass at the launch of Season 5, we can see some obvious problems. The start of a season often puts strain on servers, but chucking in the 'free' release for Modern Warfare 3 for those who've not played before means the player count and the glitches could go through the roof.

It's also interesting that eXtas1stv puts emphasis on another FPS release, with the account also claiming that the long-awaited console release of VALORANT coming on July 26. With both of these potential releases just a matter of days away, at least we won't have long to wait.
