LEGO Fortnite may not be the reason most players boot up Epic Games' battle royale pop-culture mashup, but it's certainly got an audience.

And now, more players can enjoy it together thanks to the arrival of split-screen play on PS5 and Xbox in October - although no firm date was given.

LEGO Fortnite adds split-screen on PS5

At the PlayStation State of Play event today, Sony confirmed PS5 players will get to enjoy LEGO Fortnite in split screen, while a subsequent post on X (formerly Twitter) from the LEGO Fortnite account confirmed it'll come to Xbox, too.

That's ideal for players in the same household, and could be a hugely popular move for anyone with kids (this writer included).

Fortnite DualSense is an assault on the senses

Aside from split screen, PS5 players can also pick up a Fortnite DualSense controller and it's, well, it's something.

You can see it in all of its glory above, and it's basically the complete opposite of the more tasteful Astro Bot controller we saw recently.
