Linkin Park Worlds

Ah it's that time of the year again when the Worlds soundtracks of old get cranked up on the speakers. Rise, Star Walkin', Legends Never Die, all of them, booming from speakers around the globe as the League of Legends World Championships draw ever closer.

Over the years, Worlds has been headlined by some of the world's biggest artists. Zedd, Imagine Dragons, PVRIS, Lil Nas X, and Newjeans are just a handful of the bands who stepped into the Worlds spotlight, and this year, another group of rock legends will be highlighting the tournament.

This year, Worlds 2024 will be headlined by Linkin Park, and their song Heavy is the Crown has already been shared by the band ahead of its release.

Linkin Park confirmed as League of Legends Worlds 2024 Anthem Artist

Hot off the back of their reformation with co-lead singer Emily Armstrong, replacing the late Chester Bennington, Linkin Park has been announced as the anthem artist for this year's League of Legends World Championship.

The song, Heavy is the Crown, will launch worldwide on September 25, 4 am BST, but has already been performed live by the band on their current reunion tour.

While performing on their From Zero tour in Hamburg, Armstrong and Mike Shinoda burst into the new song.

The song was rumoured to be the Worlds 2024 anthem after the official League of Legends Twitter (X) account tweeted the band with a crown emoji, and Heavy is the Crown is listed among a range of new songs on their upcoming album, From Zero.

Shinoda revealed to the crowd in Hamburg that it was a "live premiere" and that their debut showcase was the best rendition they'd done for the song yet. It's safe to say that it went down a treat with the fans in attendance.

The band will likely perform the song live at the Worlds Finals Opening Ceremony at the 02 Arena in London as the two remaining teams take to the stage to see who will follow on from T1 and Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok and lift the Summoners cup.
