Loadout Drops have become a staple of the modern Call of Duty experience, seeing weapon caches be tossed out of the skies to reinforce your gameplay with meta weapons of your choice.

But, after being used for exploits, they are being permanently removed. At least in the case of Modern Warfare 3, as Sledgehammer Games tries to deal with a deluge of problems in the 2023 game.

Modern Warfare 3 permanently removes Loadout Drops

As of Modern Warfare 3 Season 2, Loadout Drops will be getting the boot from multiplayer, with the developers having revealed that the large boxes were being used by players to get in unintentional places.

In multiplayer, they were only used as a gimmick anyway, having scarcely been called in for a player to change their guns mid-killstreak as they were intended to.

Instead, sneaky gamers would pile the loadouts to escape the map or climb into glitched spots, something that hasn't been popular in Call of Duty for a number of years.

Nobody will miss loadouts from multiplayer, but anyone who does have them equipped will now have an Ammo Box in their field upgrade slot going forward.

What's happening to Loadout Drops in Warzone?

Not to fear too much because Loadout Drops will remain in Warzone for the foreseeable future and will only be getting the axe from multiplayer - much to the relief of the community.

It's likely that loadouts will never be removed from the battle royale, despite having previously broken the game with detrimental glitches.

After Sledgehammer Games revealed the removal on Twitter, the change to Modern Warfare 3 has taken immediate effect as of February 13,
