Mephisto Is Coming To Fortnite

It looks like we're winning in 2024, as Mephisto is coming to Fortnite. Those who are keeping up with the Marvel Cinematic Universe will know it's a name that will strike fear into everyone's hearts - namely because it's one of the franchise's most frustrating jokes.

Back when WandaVision aired in 2021, there were swirling theories that Mephisto was the big bad behind it all, but as we all know, it was Agatha all along (cue the music). Since then, barely a day goes by where there isn't some batsh*t theory that Mephisto is going to appear somewhere. You probably just didn't expect it to be in Fortnite.

Mephisto has been leaked for Fortnite

The spooky season is upon us, and while Call of Duty is already making the most of its annual The Haunting event with Art the Clown and Michael Myers, all eyes are on Epic Games to see what it's bringing to the table with Fortnitemares. There are plenty of ghouls and goblins going bump in the night, with leaked Saw and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre collabs.

While we'll admit we're disappointed that Jason Voorhees is again left languishing at the bottom of a lake, and we're still without a Friday the 13th crossover, this season of Marvel madness means there's room for demonic entities from the pages of Marvel Comics. Sorry to report that while Morbius isn't one of them, we've got someone better.

Doctor Doom is the big bad of Chapter 5 Season 4, but with there being plenty of occult Marvel characters, a Faustian legend like Mephisto seems perfect for Fortnitemares. Fortnite's October 1 update has changed plenty in the back end, with leaked files mentioning a Mephisto Bundle that boasts Mephisto's Bargain, Mephisto's Boast, and Mephisto's Gift.

Like we've seen Marvel-themed bundles for Black Cat and Iron Spider, expect Mephisto to arrive in the Item Shop at some point before October 31. If you're thinking, "So what, just another demon guy in the Fortnite shop," let's look at the bigger picture and what this could mean for the MCU.

Kathryn Hahn is currently leading Agatha All Along, which conveniently name-dropped Mephisto in its third episode. Showrunner Jac Schaeffer told Entertainment Weekly how his first official mention was in response to all the wild fan theories that drove us mad during WandaVision.

Considering we've now had a mention of Mephisto and it now looks like he's coming to the Fortnite shop, it's our biggest clue yet that he could be making his live-action debut in Agatha All Along. Sacha Baron Cohen is tipped to be playing him in the upcoming Ironheart series, but look out for this horned horror before Agatha's final credits roll.
