Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is set to release on 20 October, however it seems like it will be missing one feature that fans have been expecting.

While it will not be there at launch, it seems like New Game Plus will be added at a later date.

New Game Plus will not be coming to Spider-Man 2 on day one

Insomniac Games confirmed Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will get New Game Plus and mission replay eventually, however they won't be a part of the Day One patch.

James Stevenson, Insomniac’s director of community and marketing, confirmed on Twitter that the features would be coming, just not at launch.

He said: “We’re working on an update for those features but they won’t be on Day 1.”

A day one patch will improve the gameplay experience

Stevenson’s comments came as part of a wider discussion about the Day one patch which was announced by Insomniac Games earlier that day.

The patch will add polish to the gold master version of the game, improving the opening sections and adding additional accessibility options.

There are also post-launch plans for the game to be compatible with the PlayStation Access controller which is set to launch on 6 December.

On the topic, Stevenson advised people purchasing the disc version of the game to download the update before playing, saying: “Disc folks - you definitely want to grab this before you start playing to have the fully polished experience from the beginning!”

For digital players, the update will be downloaded if you preload the game.
