It barely needs repeating at this point, but the death of Uncle Ben is pretty pivotal to the forward motion of the Marvel worlds at large. Spurring Peter Parker to become Spider-Man, his beloved uncle biting the dust has become something of a turning point in Marvel stories,

Uncle Ben's death might be synonymous with a tragedy that forces people to do good, and without it, we wouldn't have Stan Lee's favourite comic book creation. Despite its importance, it's pretty sad. And now, his infamous demise has been manhandled into a total goof in a new Marvel game.

Why Does Marvel Snap Make You Want To Kill Uncle Ben?

In spite of the misery that comes from Uncle Ben's death, it's been transformed into something you'll actually be embracing if you're playing Marvel Snap - the new card game comes from former Hearthstone director Ben Brode's studio Second Dinner.

Fans have been incentivised to kill Uncle Ben so that they can bring about the creation of Spider-Man. Marvel Snap has recently been launched for PC and mobile and is packing a card (that when destroyed), will add a Spider-Man card to the player's hand. The Uncle Ben card itself is pretty low-powered, so is close to useless unless you intend on killing him straight away.

As brutal as this is, it's a pretty funny way to characterise the death of a pivotal character to create a more powerful one. Interestingly, Uncle Ben has got the same level of power as a lot of tough Marvel characters.

Uncle Ben Is As Tough As Korg (Apparently)

Though the game puts Uncle Ben's power level at a mere two, which really isn't anything worth shouting about - he's on an equal playing field as some pretty beefy Marvel heroes.

According to Marvel Snap, his power level is equal to that of Rocket Raccoon, Korg, and Nightcrawler, while he's considered even more powerful than Ant-Man, Elektra, and Squirrel Girl. Not quite sure how that's happened, but hey, at least we know he can hold his own against a man who is literally made out of rocks.
