When it comes to the gaming leaks, there are few more things more dangerous than Grand Theft Auto rumours. Whether it's a female protagonist, a return to Vice City, or a release as early as next year, we can barely move through this quagmire of GTA 6 rumours and supposed leaks. With Rockstar Games being notoriously cagey, it's impossible to figure out what's real and what's been conjured for the clout.

While it's likely there's some truth to some of these rumours, it's like searching for a needle in a haystack. Apart from the fact we know Rockstar is all-in on GTA 6 (much to the detriment of Red Dead), there's no real info on what's to come. Now, it's over to another supposed insider and a leak of a massive GTA 6 map.

What Is The GTA 6 Map Leak?

GTA Vice City map

At this point, it's almost a given that we'll be going back to Vice City in some form. Whether that's the main locale of GTA 6 being a modernised version of this '80s-inspired reimagining of Miami or tacking it on as an extra city, we hope you've packed your Hawaiian shirt.

According to noted leaker Matheusvictorbr, not only will we be returning to Vice City, but it'll be a suitably massive map. They claim that the GTA 6 map will be as big as Red Dead Redemption 2's. Remembering that the RDR2 map also included the island of Guarma, it's a mind-boggling concept. More than this, there will reportedly be a standalone map that will take us to the Caribbean.

Similar to Guarma, this tropical locale won't be part of the open world, but instead, will serve as a segue that you can only visit once during the campaign. As for Vice City, it's unclear whether we'll just beef up the old Vice City map or explore a wider array of locales like a fictionalised version of the Everglades. It would definitely fit those rumours of hurricanes and alligators.

What Else Has Been Leaked?

GTA 4

Matheusvictorbr has also given us an update on what could be next for GTA Online. We've heard a lot of rumours about a potential GTA IV expansion that would bring Liberty City to the online multiplayer. Although some expected it to arrive as part of the recent Criminal Enterprises update, it sounds like we could be waiting for GTA 6 to revisit Niko Bellic's story.

The insider says we'll head to a modernised Liberty City, however, concluded that it's "still very raw or not solid ground so far." None of this exactly sounds like GTA 6 or a GTA Online overhaul are just around the corner, and with every GTA "leak," we advise you take things with a heavy pinch of salt. Either way, we're one step closer to finding out whether Project Americas is the real deal or just an elaborate hoax.
