What is it about bunny rabbits that make them so open to horror? From Donnie Darko's Frank to Five Nights at Freddy's Bonnie, those carrot munching monsters are pulled straight from our nightmares. Another furry fan-favourite lurking in the warren is Call of Duty's Mister Peeks.

Despite only first appearing in 2020's Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Mister Peeks has made quite a mark on the franchise. Originally simply known as the Mystery Box Money, he quickly broke free from his confines to become the macabre mascot of the Zombies campaigns.

Mister Peeks plushie is a must-buy monster

We're not here to tell you that you need to buy a Mister Peeks plushie for your partner this Valentine's Day (because you secretly want it yourself), but we wouldn't judge you. Admittedly looking a little cuter than his in-game counterpart, the Call of Duty shop is now selling a Mister Peeks plushie.

Coming in at $25, this officially licensed Mister Peeks plushie stands at 9" tall and has only just been released. Considering he's just crawled from the grave, we imagine he'll be sold out before too long, so you'd better 'hop' to it.

This isn't the first time Call of Duty has been flogging Mister Peeks merch, with the shop already boasting hoodies and tees. Still, you only have to look at the popularity of Pokemon plushies to see why this latest addition to the Peeksverse is a stroke of marketing genius.

The bizarre story of Mister Peeks

Mister Peeks Call of Duty child's note

How Mister Peeks ended up in the grim Dark Aether storyline remains unclear, although the events of Vanguard confirm he was knocking around in the time of World War II. He's described as a "Dark Aether Object" in intel from Outbreak, while he got attached to a child somewhere down the line.

He also popped up in the '80s and appeared to Requiem operators, before finding a new home as an Easter egg on Warzone's Urzikstan map. Mister Peeks is supposed to keep kids safe from "the dark place," although we don't think we'd trust him with our offspring. Also, with graffiti in Verrückt stating, "Teddy is a liar," Mister Peeks takes a sinister turn.

We're surprised it's taken this long for Activision to realise how lucrative an official line of Mister Peeks dolls would be, but either way, we're sold on snuggling up to this tattered teddy. Just don't blame us if you accidentally get sucked into the Dark Place.
