Infinity Ward
You might tip your hat to Infinity Ward for pushing the Call of Duty world to its limits with Modern Warfare 2 - with DMZ, Warzone, and Multiplayer all being relatively successful.
However, their most ambitious side quest yet, Raids, has not won the fan base over. Coming in Season 1 Reloaded, Raids were added when most people demanded quality-of-life changes to MW2.
The expectations for this mode were quite high, after all, they came in place of some important in-game fixes. Promising many high-tier rewards for completing Raids, Infinity Ward has now angered fans even more, with many claiming that this gimmick is a "sick joke".
MW2 Raids Rewards Revealed
Raids are no easy feat to complete. First, you need a squad of three, then, you need to obtain a Raid key through multiplayer challenges or battle royale placements. Finally, you have to operate through the increasingly difficult mission poised with "violence and timing."
So, you would expect something cool as a reward, right? Well, wrong. Aside from obtaining a relatively okay Gaz skin, you also get a completely bog-standard shotgun blueprint, and its name ("punchline") is only the jibe to a sick joke.
The Punchline weapon blueprint has no camo attached to the weapon and is only inscribed with the name "Garrick" on it. It appears to be like something you'd discard even in the campaign.
Fans Hate MW2's Raids Rewards
To rub salt into the wounds of bleeding fans, the blueprint is also only available after completing Raids on Veteran difficulty, which has proved to be quite the challenge in itself.
"This is the issue with CoD trying to do looter-shooter things, what are you gonna loot?" quizzed one fan, bemused at the addition of the Raids mode. "I just expected something other than a dirty default gun," added another.
A third said, "This is the issue with CoD trying to do looter-shooter things, what are you gonna loot?" A fourth chimed in saying, "Hilarious, glad I uninstalled Co-Op. it's a waste of drive space."
Someone else summed up, "It doesn't make much sense for them to release cool stuff you get for free by playing the game when their entire business is based off of micro transactions. That's literally all the give a f**k about. All their cool skins & camos you have to buy with $."
