Season 6 of Modern Warfare 2 has seemingly been confirmed by a message on the new Xbox dashboard stating the upcoming season's end date.

Season 6 of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 has seemingly been confirmed by a message on the new Xbox dashboard which mentions the upcoming season's end date.
Activision recently confirmed on 27 July that Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone Season 5 will start on 2 August, bringing new maps, modes, vehicles and weapons to the game - and that Modern Warfare 3, leaked via Monster cans, would be revealed within next season's Warzone.
The new Xbox Dashboard has given new information about Season 5
CharlieIntel tweeted: “The Xbox Dashboard states Modern Warfare II and Warzone Season 05 ends September 20, meaning that there is in fact going to be a Season 06 starting September 21 - ahead of MWIII's launch.”
The confirmation that Season 5 will be ending on 20 September means there will almost certainly be a Season 6 before CoD 2023 comes along later this year.
As part of Season 5’s roadmap, a limited-time Call of Duty 2023 reveal event will be taking place.
What does this mean for Modern Warfare?
While Call of Duty 2023 has not been given a confirmed release date at this stage, CharlieIntel previously reported that it will likely be released in November this year. This was seemingly revealed by the judge during Activision's FTC court trial on 30 June.
Assuming the next game in the franchise does release in November, this leaves almost two months unaccounted for in the CoD roadmap. It is therefore reasonable to assume that Activision is likely to release a sixth season before the newest game launches.
