Although Modern Warfare 2 is ramping up the content for its final season, with a melody of haunting skins echoing through the streets of Al Mazrah and the excursions of multiplayer maps, the next wave of Call of Duty content is quickly coming to drown out the screams.

The trilogy title is here to hit like a tsunami, as Modern Warfare 3 is taking no prisoners - rather, breaking them out. But if you want to get hands-on with the multiplayer playtests, you might be left regretting the investment, as one MW3 Beta hitch will leave your console in tatters.

Modern Warfare 3 Beta will take 24GB of storage... with a catch

A new Call of Duty means that your storage capacity is getting ready for a battering. These days, CoD titles take up every last ounce of strength from your console's hard drive.

Warzone 1 started this trend, and now Modern Warfare 3 is set to continue it, as the Beta on its own is set to cost you a valuable 24GB, according to PlayStation Size.

However, the beta will not fall in as a game of its own, and will instead serve as this new pattern of being a Call of Duty DLC, which means you also need the main client...

Modern Warfare 3 needs the 120GB Call of Duty hub to run

Have no fear, if you still play Modern Warfare 2 or Warzone, this hitch won't be of much concern to you, you'll simply have to download the DLC for 24GB and crack on shooting. But if you're a returning player or a first-time CoD aficionado looking to get a headstart on the new game you will need to download the Call of Duty HQ hub.

Call of Duty HQ hub officially came into force on September 30 on both PC and Console. You will now see the main game set as "Call of Duty" and not the individual title you have bought, with each game being added as DLCs.

Currently, the Call of Duty client takes around 75-80GB of storage, and the multiplayer add-on pack takes another 20GB, meaning you'll actually need a whopping 120GB of storage free to download the Beta if you don't already have a Call of Duty title installed.

So, you better make sure that you've cleaned off Apex Legends and Fortnite by this weekend, as the Modern Warfare 3 Beta is here to destroy your console storage.
