Call of Duty fans have spotted an unofficial Transformers skin in Modern Warfare 3, giving us a crossover we never knew we needed.

This year, more than others and strangely more than the futuristic era where this style suits, Call of Duty skins have been clad in boxy metal armour like robots rising. We're not quite back in the jet pack era, but you'd be forgiven for thinking we're heading that.

The Warhammer crossover mainly spearheaded this look, which has since been adopted by many different characters. Now, though, the Decepticons seem to be preparing for a robot takeover, as an unofficial Transformers operator outfit has been spotted in Modern Warfare 3.

Alejandro gets a bizarre Transformers glow-up in Modern Warfare 3

Despite not necessarily being the beefy army type of Soap and Ghost, Alejandro is best known in Modern Warfare campaigns for having quite a fearsome attitude. He now seems to have received Megatron's own Midas touch and has been warped into one of the more badass evil transformers from 2007.

As pointed out on Reddit, the new skin looks much like Blackout from Transformers, from the metallic car-like shoulder pads and armour to the wings on the back.

Blackout was a Transformer who assumed the appearance of a chopper, hence the folded propellor blades on his back in fighting form. These blades also served as quite the sharp razor when it came to weaponry.

"As a [Transformers] fan I really hope they do a collab similar to the Gundam one. But as a broke TF fan, I hope they don't," another fan commented.

This wouldn't be the first time that we've seen a Transformers-esque character, as fans mocked the "Fumblebee" and "Transformers from Temu" skin back in Season 2 for its likeness to the fan-favourite Bumblebee.

Maybe we could reach for the stars here and take a look at the name, Blackout. Given Treyarch and Black Ops 6 is just around the corner, maybe, just maybe, this could be a sign that the battle royale mode in Call of Duty is heading back down the path of its namesake. Unlikely, but we can only hope.
