We know the Call of Duty series loves to mix itself in with popular culture, given that they are often combining forces with Hollywood to bring icons of the television screens into the games through Operator skins.
But the evolving skin game, which recently saw The Walking Dead become Modern Warfare 3 characters, isn't the only way Call of Duty references other forms of media, as they are renowned for throwing in subtle Easter eggs throughout the series.
Now, they're about to drop a huge Breaking Bad reference on the new tiny Season 2 map Stash House, and fans have already spotted it.
Modern Warfare 3 adds a Breaking Bad Easter egg
From Thor's Hammer in the Black Ops 2 campaign, the coffin dance meme in Cold War Zombies, and a Back to the Future-inspired time travel Santa Easter egg in MW2019 multiplayer, the devs are clearly quite the TV nerds.
With Stash House now coming, fans have noticed that the layout of the suburban bungalow mimics that of Walter White's house somewhat, and the garage, in particular, appears to be close in architecture.
But, the Easter egg actually comes on the roof of the garage, where Sledgehammer Games has a Pizza on the middle right of the tiles, which is a direct reference to the scene where Heisenberg loses his cool and tosses a full marg on the roof.
In the promotional video, the pizza is still on the roof, although the images uploaded to the Call of Duty blog show just the grease marks.
Call of Duty loves Breaking Bad references
This wouldn't be the first Breaking Bad reference in CoD either. In fact, it would be two references to the meth-fuelled series in as many years.
In Modern Warfare 2, the trailer-turned-cooking-lab can be found on Santa Sena Border Crossing as one of the vehicles at the start of the map which would later be blown to oblivion by a series of Drill Charges and Semtex.
This Easter egg even included tape over the bullet holes that were fired at Walter and Jessie's on-wheels science room.
With Stash House arriving in Modern Warfare 3 on February 7, you might want to keep an eye out for more Easter eggs, as the developers have been keen to elude that there will be many more quirks found in the latest update, specifically on Fortune's Keep.
